The ability to change, adapt, create their own unique sound, and courage to bring it to the masses. Mario Andre Taylor, aka M Dot Taylor, is a true artist that has earned his respect in the Hip Hop community. The rapper/singer/songwriter was born and raised in “Motown” Detroit, MI.  At an early age, music was a part of his life, and a talent for singing and rapping music became his passion.

On Dec 1, 1999, when M Dot was only 12 years of age, his Mother Passed from Aids. The date also coincided with World Aids day. On Dec 19th, his Father went into a fatal Coma and passed 11 years after his mom at the young age of 46.  In 2009 his brother got shot 7 times (7 shots to the rectum area, & 1 to the head), With all of this trauma in his life, with no parents, or direction, he was forced to move with his auntie, where he then ran with the Dexter/Linwood crew in Detroit Michigan, one of the biggest clicks in the city of Detroit.

M Dot opened his eyes to the path he was on and enlisted in the Navy which led him to San Diego where he was stationed for almost 3 years. After M Dot enlisted in the Navy, he then started writing music full-time and found a sound that wasn’t like anyone else’s. He then relocated to Hollywood, CA to pursue his dreams of being in the music business.

The Artists that inspire M Dot are Tupac, Eminem, Jay Z, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Dr. Dre, Snoop Lion, Nas, 50 Cent, Drake, J Cole, Usher, Michael Jackson, Biggie, and Diddy.  M Dot’s understanding of what it takes to make it in the business of Music is constantly displayed in his work ethic, while his charismatic personality is seen in his collaborations with greats from different eras in the evolution of rap. Greats such as Ice Wear Vezzo, Mozzy, Sada Baby, Jim Jones, Bino Rideaux, FMB_DZ, Payroll Giovanni, Ice T, Problem, Glasses Malone, Compton AV, Joe Moses, Planet Asia & more, have all worked with M Dot in some capacity.
